Felicia Weiss, Piano
Felicia began taking piano lessons when she was nine years old with Bela Schumiacher,
founder of the Shumiacher School of Music in Larchmont, NY. In 1981 she attended
Queensborough Community College, where she studied piano with Walter Ponce and
was a suzuki violin accompanist. While there, Felicia won 2nd place in the school's
concerto competition with her trio and performed the Beethoven Triple concerto
with the orchestra. Since college Felicia has been actively involved in chamber
music and taking lessons. In addition to studying chamber music a the Levine School
of music and piano lessons with Myriam Avalos, she has been a chamber pianist
with FMMC, as well as a member of the Adult Music Forum and the Piano Society
of Greater Washington.
