
The Teen Arts Intensive offers a higher level of classes in both visual and performing arts including graphic design, music production, photography, fashion, dance and more. Students in grades 8-12 choose from intensive two-hour classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 pm–6:00 pm for six weeks. Teens can also opt to participate in the Summer Musical.

Sample Class Descriptions
Visual Art
Theater Scene Painting – This class will be creating the large backdrop for the summer musical.
Pottery – Pottery included the use of specific techniques to create bowls and other functional objects.
Silk Screen – Students will learn how to use proper silk screen techniques to create and print designs onto paper or fabric.
Theater Props – Students will use a variety of material to create 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional props for use in the summer musical.
Sewing & Fashion – Students will design, cut, and sew their creations for a final debut at the end of the summer.
Painting – Students will learn a variety of mediums for new and advanced painting techniques.
Photography – Students will learn digital and 35mm film photography.
Digital Art
Graphic Design – Student will use Adobe Photoshop to learn to manipulate objects on the computer to use for their designs.
Music Production – Students will learn methods for creating their own music.
Video – Students will learn how to effectively use a video camcorder, and put together a short production from beginning to end.
Dance
Ballet – Students will learn beginning to intermediate ballet techniques.
Musical Dance – This class is only offered in Session 3 and students must be able to attend the performances at the end of August. They will learn a dance number and perform in the summer musical.
Step Dance – students will learn a beginning to advanced step routine to perform at the end of the summer.
Hip Hop – Students will learn new and classi hip hop dance moves in a choreographed piece.
Music
Saints Band – A rock band for Sitar, student should be able to read music and/ or have experience on an instrument.
Percussion Ensemble – Student will learn how to use conga drums this summer and tap to the beat.
Jazz Improvisation– Students will get experience with groip jazz music this summer, learn to play a piece and experiment with improvisation.
Group Guitar – Students will learn in a group setting how to play guitar with specific techniques.
