DESCRIPTION:Sign up for this creative movement and puppetry workshop\, plus dinner (6:00 – 6:30 pm) and meet with guest families from the Spanish Education Development Center who will also participate in this exciting workshop (6:30 – 7:30 pm.)  We will start with fun theatrical warm up of our body and imagination.  In our magic world hands dance with feet\, shoulders play soccer with noses and left ears argue with right knees! And after the warm up we will explore puppet theater\, where characters can be created out of anything – paper cups\, spoons\, socks and even our own body. We will not only learn how to create extraordinary flying characters out of ordinary objects\, but we will find out how to bring them to life. And in the end of the workshop the puppets that you will make will fly home with you! SUMMARY:Sitar's Annual Spring Slam
DESCRIPTION:Sitar’s Spring Slam will provide a wealth of artistic activities for students to participate in. Sitar Teaching Artists will lead a number of Spring-themed arts workshops. Families will also get to see the wonderful Herman Burney perform with friends from the DC Jazz Festival. Herman is a Sitar Teaching Artist in partnership with the DC Jazz Festival\, and he brings years of performing and teaching experience to the stage.
