Senior Director of Special Projects & Creative Income Initiatives
Lorraine has worked for 16 years at Sitar, most recently leading all artistic design and development of artistic programming and partnerships, and is now moving into external affairs where she will work on special projects and creative income initiatives with the Executive Director. Lorraine is an award-winning theatre director and dramaturg who has previously worked at organizations such as Arena Stage, Contemporary American Theatre Company, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co, Avant Bard Theatre Co., as well as her own non-profit theatre and film production company which she ran as Artistic Producing Director for seven years. Lorraine has an undergraduate degree with a double major in Theatre and Psychology (with coursework in film studies and racism studies) from St. Mary’s College MD and a Master’s Degree in Theatre from Brown University (concentration in directing.) In 2017, 2018 and 2019, Lorraine was recognized with an Excellence in Theatre Education Honorable Mention Award as part of the Tony® Awards.
