Sitar Arts Center Welcomes New Board Members and Leadership to Guide Next Phase of Growth
New Appointees with Diverse Expertise Coincide with 25th Anniversary and Major Expansion
WASHINGTON, July 22, 2025 — Sitar Arts Center, an anchor of the Adams Morgan community known for its high-quality and accessible arts education, is thrilled to announce the appointment of a dynamic slate of three new board members and a new president. As Sitar celebrates its 25th anniversary and prepares for a historic expansion, these additions will play a crucial role in supporting the nonprofit’s mission to eliminate financial and cultural barriers to arts education and career training for children, teens, and young adults from every Ward of Washington, D.C.
The newly-appointed board members, effective September 1, 2025, will serve three-year terms with the option to renew for a second term. The new members are:

- Helene Grandvoinnet, Lead Governance Specialist, World Bank
- Mani Grant, Vice President, Private Foundations and Endowments, Truist
- Nancy Withbroe, Chief of Staff, National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) and the NWLC Action Fund
In addition, Sitar’s board announced the appointment of Jade Floyd to the position of Board President, also commencing September 1, 2025. Floyd is the vice president and immediate past secretary; EVP of communications and public affairs at Global Strategy Group.
Maureen Dwyer, executive director of Sitar Arts Center, highlighted the significance of the moment, saying, “This is a transformative time for Sitar. Our new board members bring expertise in governance, philanthropy, and advocacy that will help us reach more young people and deepen our impact as we prepare to open an extension to our center, Sitar Next Door. The arrival of new board members and leadership comes at an exciting time. Their support will be crucial as we continue to build on our impactful legacy and forward vision for DC youth.”
