Facility

Sitar Arts Center’s state-of-the-art facility was designed specifically to best meet the arts education needs of our students. Our space includes two art studios, a dance studio with a professional-grade sprung floor, a darkroom, a drama room, a graphics lab, 10 practice rooms, an 85-seat theater with a sound and light booth, a drum room, instrument storage and an art gallery space.

Sitar relocated to our 10,700 square foot home at 1700 Kalorama Rd, NW in 2004. The design of the facility and architect Greg Kearley were honored with a Pro Bono Publico Award honoring outstanding design in the public interest from the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ Washington Architectural Foundation.

Sitar Arts Center’s state-of-the-art facilities are available for rent to our greater community when our programs are not in session. All rental proceeds directly benefit Sitar Arts Center’s programs. The Center’s convenient location is ideal for music, theater, and dance performances, as well as workshops, meetings and special events.

Daytime hours available for rental are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays during the school year, 9:00 am to  12:30 pm during the summer, with additional afternoon hours during semester breaks.

Evening and weekend rates apply to any rentals starting after 6:00 pm or on Saturdays and Sundays.
